Kidbrooke

DML4. T104 KGP. London General on route 278 in Moorhead Way on the Ferrier Estate, Kidbrooke. Buses work a one way loop around the estate Seen on 28 February 2003.

This is in effect the other half of what was the 178. The 178 went all the way from Woolwich to Lewisham until it was found that the railway bridge in Kidbrooke Park Road was weak. After several months of a lengthy diversion of  the 178 via Rochester Way and Westhorne Avenue, it was curtailed at Kidbrooke, Dover Patrol. The 278 covered the journey to Lewisham. The route is Lewisham - Kidbrooke Station - Lewisham.

The same bus stop in Moorhead Way can be seen London Central DML15. T415 AGP. on route B16.
The route is Bexleyheath - Welling - Falconwood Station - Westmount Road - Eltham - Kidbrooke Station.

London Central DML29 on route B16 at the Kidbrooke Station stop in Tudway Road. The bridge over the road in the picture carries Kidbrooke Park Road over both the road and railway, and is the weak bridge mentioned above.
Kidbrooke is named after the Kid Brook, a stream which rises from the slopes of Shooters Hill and joins the River Quaggy around Sutcliff Park.
