Woolwich

London Central NV26. N426 JBV is on route 51 on the way to Orpington Station. Seen in Greens End, named so because it was the end of the green that the Sapper's drilled on in the 18th century. Most of the builings that can be seen form part of Greenwich University, just Greenwich Council's Housing Office shares part of Churchill House.

Stagecoach MB12. R512 YWC. on route 380 at the bottom end of Wellington Street. A street composed of mostly either civic buildings, or University of Greenwich property. Most of the University building were one part of Woolwich Polytechnic, then Thames Polytechnic. The building at the end was once Barclays Bank.

Stagecoach TA163. V163 MEV on the 122 going to Crystal Palace, seen in Woolwich New Road. Just behind the bus can be seen the site of the tram terminus for the Eltham routes. 44, 46 72. The 122 now runs over the 72 tram route to as far as Lewisham. The Pullman pub next to the railway station had a less grandiose name as 'The Royal Oak'.

Stagecoach DS84. S484 BWC on route 291 Woolwich Common to Plumstead Woodlands Estate. This was part on the 192 route, which was split, the other part became the 178. The Eltham tram routes terminated here routes 44, 46 and 72. This was not an end on terminus like many but was on a loop. The trams ran via Thomas Street, Greens End, Beresford Square to New Road. They left here direct for Eltham. To make the turn from Beresford Square into New Road there was some interesting interlaced trackwork.

The Transport and General Workers Union shop was the 'Pioneer Bookshop, and The Pie Shop has been a similar establishment for fifty to sixty years or more.
