159 Routemaster Finale

A misty day and RML2759 is seen on Westminster Bridge on the last day of operation RML2759 is one of the last few routemaster buses to Marble Arch. EFE in conjunction with Arriva and Transport for London produced a model of this bus (also RML901) which was sold on the day concerned in the London's Transport Museum shop in Convent Garden.

London buses have a reputation of bunching, this day was to be no exception. Seen here in Kennington Road on 8 December 2005 the penultimate day of routemaster operation, the last full day of service.

Seen here at dusk, the last evening in which routemaster would run in normal service in London is RM548 passing through Picadilly Circus.

This is RM2217 the last official routemaster seen with the press bus in front and police escort behind. despite the best laid plans, and RM2217 leaving Marble Arch over forty minutes late. It seems that RM54 may have still been in service after the last official bus reached Brixton Garage. RM54 was delayed in central London and diverted because of a demonstration. Although in front of RM2217, it had to go all the way to Streatham Station rather than the garage.
