Green RML 2456

Stagecoach RML 2456. JJD 456D was restored into original London Transport Country green livery and gold fleet name to commemorate the end of routemaster operation at Upton Park garage with the conversion of route 15. This bus ran on the last day of route 15 crew operation which was 29 August 2003. The paint was only just dry at the time. It was then transfered to Bow garage (BW) Seen here on 31 December 2003 in Bow Road, outside Bow Church.

A rear view of RML 2456 as it pulls away from the last stop at Bow Church and heads for the garage. In Country bus days there would have been white on black blinds showing route numbers in the 300 - 400 series, and possibly an add for Green Rovers as 6/- per day.

RML 2456 has just left Bow Garage, seen in the background and is travelling down Fairfield Road to the first stop in Bow Road for a return trip to Victoria.
Other differences from LT County days are different indicators or trafficators which was the LT term for them. Also strip lighting instead of bulbs. Even so it is a well turned out bus, and looks the part when it is used regularly on route 8.
