the underside of RM 326

RM 326 over inspection pit. Looking under the engine from front to rear.
You are looking at the Gearbox.  Bolted on the G/Box is the compressor of which you can see the pulley wheel which is driven by belt from the Cardan Shaft (LT always called the prop shaft a cardan shaft).   Just seen to the left is the fuel tank.  Also the handbrake rodding which passes through the cross members.

Looking up from under RM

Looking up from under RM 326 showing fluid flywheel. You can see right up inside the bus as the floor is up.
This shows to the left part of the flexible exhaust pipe to the right was a hydraulic fluid pipe and more right is part of the power steering ram.  Bolted on the flywheel is the UJ (universal Joint) and the Cardan shaft which connects to the gearbox as in the previous picture.
Information for thes two photographs is from Stuart.Currie.
