Railway Emergency Service

RT 2523. LYF 172 on railway emergency service duties outside Dartford station in June 1970. The place is barely recognisable now the station has been rebuilt.

See the same place in April 2000.

RT 2523. LYF 172 is seen again in Dartford Garage (DT). A red RT in a sea of green RF and RT buses. Despite how it sounds, 'Railway Emergency Service' was usually just replacing trains during weekend engineering works. Now these services are called 'Railway Replacement services'.
